Langworthy Live Stories.

Just some of our amazing feedback.

Stories from Festival Attendees

  • More community spirit generated in these two nights than I have experienced in a long long time.

  • It was fantastic to see the local area buzz, and I hadn’t heard of the Lifecentre before despite walking past it daily so I’d say the impact was huge for the community!

  • It was an AMAZING event with such a wonderful energy and brought the community together. I enjoyed the atmosphere on the street, in the venues and the artists all gave their whole hearts to each and every unusual unique venue.

  • I loved hearing music being played in public and the enjoyment that the musicians had when performing. I liked seeing the surprise that people had when hanging out of apartment windows to listen or them stopping on the way out of takeaways. There was a feeling of joy that performances were actually happening for performers and audiences.

  • The mixing of generations, sharing of skills, new music, the chance to enjoy something with people you might not normally spend time with. Laughs and seeing people push themselves and enjoy performing. Connections with others.

  • Great community spirit and enjoyed seeing so many people on Langworthy Road. Visited venues never been to before.

  • It gave a boost to local people and performers who hadn’t played for 18 months or more. It was a great boost for mental health as well as the impact on local charities.

  • Please make it a yearly contribution!!! Our community needs more of the heart, energy and spirit of Langworthy Live to grow and thrive

  • Well worth the investment. Great way to reach out to a community and bring the people together.

  • Favourite performance was the violin quartet who stayed an hour later to fill in at another venue. Quality professional musicians who played for free just for the enjoyment of playing in public after so long. Exquisite music causing goosebumps as we listened. Was amazing.

  • The choir who sang outside, not a big audience but started the Saturday festival with enthusiasm and flexibility. It attracted more attention from the street and the flats above.

  • The DJs at the Lifecentre brought it back to life again.

Stories from Volunteers

  • People kept commenting on the sense of community, "this is a proper community festival".

  • It showed that Langworthy Road was more than just a hub of takeaways but that there is creative talent and lots of good will around the neighbourhood. It brought joy to many by listening, performing or volunteering.

  • It was so special to have a community event which involved such diverse musicians, venues and volunteers involved, especially after the past 18 months. It was also great to receive feedback from people that attended about how we could build on the success for next year - people are expecting it!

  • It was great to see so many happy people enjoying this festival taking place on our doorstep. It felt like it was knitting us back together after being torn apart by the pandemic. I loved the variety of performances and my daughter was inspired by the younger musicians: it revived her love of music and exposed her to new songs and genres. I'm so impressed that everyone involved took part for free to raise money for the Lifecentre who do so much for our community. Looking forward to next year!

Stories from Performers

  • I loved the idea of playing in an everyday venue on langworthy road.

  • It was great to see musicians walking about feeling safe and people mingling from different walks of life.

  • What I enjoyed the most about Langworthy Live was getting the opportunity to meet new people within the community and to explore new areas I never knew existed. And the lovely reception I got from the audience was amazing! This inspired me to take my passion as a hopeful tribute artist even further.

  • Everyone was so supportive of each other. There was a beautiful feel to the evening. We enjoyed walking down the street finding the venues. Popping our heads in and seeing what was going on. Loved that there was a micro brewery.

  • Langworthy Live is an exciting and unique local festival across venues which normally wouldn't have the opportunity to showcase live music.

  • Salford was shown in a positive light and proved you can put on a festival like this on a relative budget if people chip in.

  • It was a great way to showcase talent, gather people socially and improve wellbeing and a sense of community.

  • Not many places do you feel the true spirit of community. Of people all coming together sharing their loves and passions and putting on a real good show. For no gain but just out of love and generosity. You could feel it on the streets. Everyone you passed. There was this warming feeling felt through the whole evening. Everyone supporting each other and having fun. I have not done a festival like it. It will always be something that I speak of as it warmed the heart. I really hope there are more and more of these to come. I was so happy and feel so lucky to have played at the first one. I look forward to the future that Langworthy Live has.
